8600 block Germantown Ave. – two men stole $32,000 from Sovereign Bank. The bank’s assistant manager said the offenders each entered with shotguns and said, “Don’t move everybody down and stay down.” One of the offenders then jumped the counter and took money from two teller registers. Offenders then fled the scene. (full story)

May 25, 2011

7200 block E. Walnut Lane – washing machine stolen from the property. Complainant said she watched two men load the item onto a vehicle. She said the offenders sped away when her boyfriend attempted to stop them.

700 block Briar Road – police arrested a man who was in the process of burglarizing the property Officers watched the offender carry some bags from the rear of the property. When they attempted to stop him, he fled on foot. Police captured the offender and made the arrest. A witness saw the offender carrying a TV, vacuum cleaner and other items out of the home.

5900 block Stenton Ave. – toilet paper was set on fire inside the third floor boy’s bathroom at Martin Luther King High School. Fire was extinguished. There was no property damage and no injuries.

6600 block Ardleigh St. – DVD player, XM radio, GPS and a car stereo stolen from a 2003 GMC Yukon Denali.

7100 block Cedar Park Ave. – wallet containing $550, SS card and bank cards were stolen from a 2000 Pontiac Bonneville between 2:30 p.m. May 24 and 8:05 a.m. May 25.

100 block E. Washington Lane – complainant said that two men approached him from behind and struck him in the back of the head. Complainant then fought back until of the offenders stabbed him in the left shoulder with an unknown object. Complainant chased the offenders, but soon lost them.

700 block E. Chelten Ave. – complainant said a man shot him in the abdomen after two men mugged him and a friend and gunpoint. Complainant said the offenders approached them from behind. One of the offenders then said, “Give me your stuff, I’m about to shoot your man.” Complainant’s friend then handed over a $1 in coins. One of the offenders then shot the complainant. Complainant was taken to the hospital.

300 block E. Cliveden St. – complainant said she was raped by an acquaintance when she was seven years old. The complainant is now a young adult.

700 block Locust Ave. – bathroom vanity, dishwasher, stove, microwave, cabinets and a countertop stolen from the property between 1 p.m. May 11 and May 24. Complainant said he showed the house to a potential buyer May 11. He said he noticed the items were missing when he returned May 24.

E. Penn St. / Belfield Ave. – 2007 Buick Lacrosse was stolen between 1:30-8:05 a.m. May 25.

Germantown Ave. / E. Washington Lane – complainant said an acquaintance threatened to kill her after he pulled out a gun. Complainant was in the offender’s car at the time. The man was later arrested.

Unit block E. Chestnut Hill Ave. – mountain bike stolen from street. Complainant said he was in the doctor’s office at the time.

 

May 26, 2011

1100 block E. Stafford St. – complainant said his cousin placed a knife to his neck and threatened to kill him. The offender then stole $55 from the complainant’s front pocket and fled the scene on foot.

Vernon Road / Crittenden St. – complainant said a man robbed her at gunpoint. The offender walked away with a handbag containing a cell phone, house keys, ATM card and $20.

7200 block N. 21st St. – complainant said someone stole $3,040 and a handgun from his home between 8 a.m. and 3:40 p.m. May 26.

200 block E. Haines St. – a student at Fulton Elementary School said a fellow student took a razor blade out of her mouth and then cut her on her forehead.

6100 block Baynton St. – HP laptop, Xbox 360 and a Wii system stolen from the property between 12:45-1:10 p.m. Complainant was informed that her nephew was seen leaving the house with a shoulder bag at around 1 p.m.

100 block Mayland St. – complainant said an acquaintance struck her several times with a curtain rod after breaking into the property through a porch window. The complainant had refused to let the offender inside the property just prior to the assault.

100 block W. Haines St. – Cannondale hybrid bike stolen from the property between 9 p.m. May 25 and 10 a.m. May 26.

5400 block Greene St. – 2003 Honda Element stolen.

Unit block W. Willow Grove Ave. – Cannon camera and an iPod stolen from a 2006 Toyota 4 Runner between 12:15-6:45 a.m. May 26.

 

May 27, 2011

E. Chelten Ave. / Ardleigh St. – complainant said someone snatched his wallet off of the counter of a Chinese take-out restaurant. He said when he tried to get the item back, the offender scratched him and refused to hand it over.

6400 block Milton St. – complainant said someone stole a revolver from the property between April 26 and May 25. There were no signs of a forced entry.

2100 block 66th Ave. – 2005 Chrysler Pacifica stolen. Complaisant said the keys were in the car at the time.

800 block E. Chelten Ave. – plastic bin filled with hooded sweatshirts and jackets and a digital camera were stolen from the property.

Thouron Ave. / Phil-Ellena St. – complainant said a teenager shot her in the leg with a BB gun after stopping her in front of a bus. The offender then fled with another teenager.

300 block W. Duval St. – complainant said someone grabbed her cell phone from her on the street and fled the scene.

8300 block Anderson St. – $1,000 and jewelry were stolen from the property between March 1 and May 16. Complainant said she had several workers in her home for a remodeling project at the time. She said she noticed the items were missing when they left.

8300 block Michener Ave. – 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix stolen.

1100 block E. Mount Pleasant Ave. – TV/stereo, headrest TV and a subwoofer were stolen from a 2001 Chevy Impala.

7200 block Cresheim Road – Mac laptop and $1,000 stolen from a 2001 Toyota Corolla.

 

May 29, 2011

6900 block Stenton Ave. – handgun with a wooden handle was stolen from the property. Complainant said he lives with his wife. There were no signs of a forced entry.

900 block E. Hortter St. – iPod and car radio stolen from a 2005 Ford Focus between 10:30 p.m. May 28 and 1:30 p.m. May 29.

Chew Ave. / E. Chelten Ave. – 2002 Mercury Sable stolen between. Complainant said the car was running with the keys inside at the time.

100 block Pleasant St. – complainant said someone stole $900 from her home sometime between May 28 and 29. She said she has had ongoing issues with her landlord over rent. Complainant said the money was missing after she missed a court date connected to the dispute.

100 block E. Chelten Ave. – complainant said that someone struck him twice in the face at the location.

Unit block Maplewood Mall – someone lit some trash on fire by the front door of a building at the location. A captain with the fire department said deemed that the blaze was intentionally set. There was no one inside or outside the property at the time.

500 block Wadsworth Ave. – a witness saw two men carrying a flat screen TV out of a property at the location. She said the owner was away at the time. Offenders entered through a kitchen window.

 

May 30, 2011

800 block E. Chelten Ave. – Xbox 360, Playstation 3, HP laptop, Wii game console, Vizio TV and jewelry stolen from the property between 12:30-9 p.m. May 30.

100 block E. Sharpnack St. – complainant said boys attacked him and stole his bike. Police arrested at least one of the offenders after surveying the scene.

5800 block Magnolia St. – complainant said her husband tasered her during a verbal dispute. Police apprehended the offender and took him to the Northwest Detectives Division.

600 E. Sedgwick St. – complainant said someone stole a firearm from her home. She said that two men came over to help her move on May 26. On May 30, she noticed the item was missing.

400 block Gate Lane – complainant said she watched a man walked into her kitchen, steal her pocketbook, cell phone and credit cards and run out of the house. Complainant said the man then got into a white sedan.

 

May 31, 2011

7200 block Limekiln Pike – AK-47 and a 22-calibur handgun stolen from the property between 10 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. May 31.

1000 block E. Phil-Ellena St. – 9mm Glock lockbox, jewelry, Compaq laptop, two cordless phones and a water jug filled with change stolen from the property between 2 p.m. May 27 and 4:30 p.m. May 31. Complainant, an off-duty officer, said his alarm wasn’t set at the time.

800 block Locust Ave. – complainant said his girlfriend hit him in the head with an unknown object and knocked him unconscious during an argument. Police later located the offender and arrested her.

1200 block Cardeza St. – complainant said someone cut him across the across with a box cutter and fled. Complainant said he had been arguing with the offender over uncompleted home repairs.

Unit block E. Wister St. – microwave, vacuum cleaner, printer, calculator and cleaning supplies stolen from Elders Place between 4 p.m. May 27 and 8:15 May 31.

700 block Westview Ave. – three Mac Book laptops, two laptop chargers, PSP, Xbox 360, clock radio and an iPod stolen from the property between 9:10 a.m. and 3 p.m. May 31.

600 block W. Cliveden St. – 19″ flat screen TV, two cell phones and an iPod stolen from the property.

6800 block Emlen St. – two candle boxes, Xbox, 19″ TV and clothing stolen from a car between 2:30 a.m. May 29 and 8 a.m. May 31.
