Authorities are seeking the suspect who tried to set fire to the Galloway Township Police Headquarters.

Police say the suspect attempted to light a glass bottle containing what’s believed to be a petroleum-based accelerant. The bottle shattered over the lobby doors and floor, but did not ignite.

There were several officers and citizens in the lobby, but no one was injured.

Surveillance footage released by the police department capture the incident, showing the white man running from the scene toward Jimmie Leeds Road after tossing the object.

Police say the man appears to be in his mid- to late 20s and approximately 5-feet, 7-inches tall with brown or red facial hair. He was wearing a brown or tan jacket with a checkered pattern, dark pants, and a grey hoodie.

Police intend to file attempted aggravated arson charges against the man.

Anyone with information should call the Galloway Township Police Department at 609-652-3705.
