New Castle County
Get ready to go on an intergalactic journey as the Empire invades the DCM! The DCM will be hosting an out-of-this-world event featuring your favorite Star Wars characters from Garrison Carida of the 501st Legion (a professional costuming organization dedicated to re-creating authentic costumes of the Dark Side characters from Star Wars). Shake hands, high-five, and pose for pictures with your favorite Star Wars characters, and then blast off into outer space with hands-on programs that explore the science of Star Wars. Come one, come all to Delaware’s second annual Irish and Celtic music festival at World Cafe Live at the Queen featuring The Young Dubliners, Barleyjuice and Brother! World Cafe Live at the Queen.
Both children and adults enjoy the First State Heritage Park’s candlelit walking tours – there’s history, humor, and sorrow in the stories of real people from Delaware’s past centuries. On this tour you will visit by lantern light the Presbyterian Church of Dover’s historic cemetery, where many prominent Delawareans and their families are buried. Meet at the Johnson Victrola Museum, 375 S. New Street, Dover.
This special show in open to member and non-member artists and promises to be very interesting. A multi-cultural exhibit, this is a chance for artists to let their heritage shine! Not to be missed, Milford is on the way to the Delaware resort beaches and a perfect place to explore and relax! There will be a Heritage Celebration Reception on Sept 5 from 5:30 pm until 7:30 pm. Adapted from the 1997 British film, the musical version follows six unemployed steelworkers as they decided to create a strip act after seeing their wives’ enthusiasm for a touring company of Chippendale dancers. But, their show will be better than the Chippendale’s dancers as they’ll go “the full monty” and strip all the way! Clear Space Theater.
Join us for an exciting evening of music as we present The Mid-Atlantic Symphony Orchestra with guest soloists from OperaDelaware. Audiences will delight in this collaborative performance. These talented, local organizations will perform classical pieces to enjoy, to be energized by, and to be inspired by.
