Arthur Ashe YTE hosts a ‘Taste of Tennis’ today

As everyone settles into fall, some neighborhoods have more things cooking than others.

Today, the Arthur Ashe Youth Tennis and Education (AAYTE) center in East Falls will host its Tennis Feast with live matches and an all-you-can-eat and drink evening.

Foodies can look forward to six dining options, including the winner of Cupcake Wars – A Cupcake Wonderland – and three food trucks on site.

Arthur Ashe alumnus Jonah Fliegalman will debut his new Pitruco Pizza food truck, serving wood-fired oven Neapolitan pizza. Strada Pasta food truck will sell its delicious pastas from northern Italy and Latin Farmer food truck will offer its variety of fresh Latin flavors cooked in an environment with biodegradable and compostable supplies.

Melody Brewing Company will sell its locally brewed beer and Love Bar will sell its pure chocolate composed of 56-percent to 90-percent cacao.

The event will run from 4 to 7 p.m. at Arthur Ashe Youth Tennis and Education at 4842 Ridge Avenue.

All proceeds will benefit Arthur Ashe’s programs, serving 4,500 children at 36 sites throughout the city, according to Marcie Baker, Arthur Ashe coordinator of organizational advancement.

Eagles fans can watch the end of the game at the library or stick around for the Phillies game, starting after 8 p.m. Tickets for adults are $20; tickets for children are $10.
