Annual National Marbles Tournament kicks off today in Wildwood

With a slow, precise roll, the National Marbles Tournament begins today in Wildwood. The 88th annual event will host male and female youth players until Thursday, during which time more than 1,200 games will be played.

Players ages 7 to 14 from around the country will take part, as the Press of Atlantic City reports, competing for awards, college scholarships and the sought-after king and queen of marbles titles.

Sounds a lot tamer than next week’s Beer Pong Championship in Atlantic City.
