A story slam sample: Fear while flying
The best storytellers in Philadelphia gathered Thursday to compete in the First Person Festival’s “Grand Slam.”
Eleven contestants had each won a monthly Story Slam earlier this year past year, and the final challenge was held at Christ Church Neighborhood House in Old City.
The winner was Diane Ivey. Unfortunately, Diane’s story is not fit for NewsWork.org. (But you can sneak a peak here.)
Another competing story, by Bill Mettler, describes one of the advantages of storytelling.
