A new Miss Delaware has been chosen

Miss Delaware 2011 has been crowned, as the pageant wraps up its 70th anniversary celebration.

Saturday night in Dover, after three days of competition, Maria Cahill of Newark received the crown.  She is studying marketing at Wilmington University, and her platform is “drive safe, drive smart.”  Ms. Cahill performed an Irish dance for the talent competition.  She becomes Miss Delaware after the year-long reign of Kayla Martell.
