A mostly rainy weekend is ahead at the Jersey Shore.

A series of low pressure systems will pass over the New Jersey region throughout the weekend, delivering periods of heavy rain, forecasters say.

The lightest rain will fall during the day on Saturday — with the morning hours possibly remaining dry — becoming moderate to heavy Saturday night into Sunday, according to the National Weather Service.

Two to three inches of rainfall are possible by Sunday night, particularly along the I-95 corridor.
