Greater Philadelphia Film Office and the South Street Headhouse District present SETS ON SOUTH
On Friday, July 24, over 50 film and television professionals will gather underneath the Historic Shambles at 2nd and Lombard Streets to kick off the GPFO’s first ever Greener SETS Scavenger Hunt throughout the South Street Headhouse District, Philadelphia‘s premier entertainment district. Beginning at 3:00 pm, all “hunters” will visit over 35 participating vendors in search of sustainable products for the three major areas of film and television production: clothing, catering and art. Products to be hunted include: cowboy boots made from recyclable leather and tires, bamboo hats, vintage clothing, locally grown tea, coffee beans and flowers, and organic yarn, soaps and food, just to name a few, to Set Entertainment Toward Sustainability … and who knows, maybe one of the famous frolicking in Philly will make an appearance …
The GPFO’s Greener SETS aims to help lessen the environmental footprint of a production by providing resources and the educational tools to assist filmmakers by identifying alternative products and where to access them. Additionally, the program compliments Mayor Nutter’s green initiative: making Philadelphia the greenest city of the future.
