Overview: American Recovery and Reinvestment Act
As reported on Philebrity today, the White House made a lot of detailed information public regarding the stimulus plan, also known as the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009. These documents break down projected employment increases by congressional district, as well as the benefits in certain focus areas such as infrastructure, education, energy, and health care.
The sheet on infrastructure (linked above) states that of the $150 billion in new federal infrastructure funding, $17 billion will go toward new transit and light rail with $40 billion going toward a two-year plan to rehab and maintain existing roads, ports, and water systems.
