7th District Police issue burglary alert for Bustleton street
Capt. Joseph Zaffino of the 7th Police District issued a burglary notice Wednesday for residents on the 9800-block of Cowden Street and surrounding blocks in Bustleton.
“Be advised that there was a burglary on the 9800-block of Cowden Street during this past weekend. From talking to a witness, there was a 6-foot tall, white male — dark, short leather jacket, a hoodie sweat jacket, with the hoodie over his head — seen in the area just prior to the burglary.
The male had been standing in the rain outside of the house for hours before the house was burglarized, according to the witness. No one called police. My intentions in this text is not to criticize the witness, but to emphasize how important it is to call the police when something does not look right.
In anyone’s eyes, this should have appeared to be suspicious and someone should have called 911. If we are going to be successful in combating our burglary problem, we need the public’s help. Again, if you see somehting that you believe deserves the attention of the police, please call 911 immediately.”
