39th Police District Dec. 3 to Dec. 9

This district covers lower West Germantown and East Falls as well as parts of Nicetown and Tioga.

Friday, Dec. 3, 2010

4600 block Newhall St. – 1998 Toyota Corolla stolen. Complainant said he was delivering food at the location when three men approached him and threatened him with a black handgun.

3600 block Fox St. Garmin GPS, clothes, curling iron, jewelry and a radar detector were stolen from a 2005 Nissan Altima between 8:45 a.m. and 1 p.m. Dec. 3.

4700 block Wissahickon Ave. bronze giraffe, iron fountain, wood bench, two Buddha statues and more were stolen from Material Culture, Inc. Complainant said the items were removed from the front of the store between 6 p.m. Nov. 24 and 8 a.m. Nov. 29.

1500 block W. Ontario St. – non-current – complainant said two acquaintances sexually assaulted her at a stairway at school.

2700 block N. Hicks St. complainant said someone stole several items from the taxi cab she was riding in after she stopped at the location and went to the door to drop off some groceries. A black Gucci hand bag, black coach hand bag, a camera and miscellaneous medicines were stolen.

2100 block W. Toronto St. complainant said three males attacked and mugged him.  When he tried to fight back, someone pulled out a black handgun and told the complainant that he would kill him if he told anyone about the incident. The offenders stole a cell phone and $20.

2200 block Westmoreland St. complainant said he was hit in the head with a rock while riding the bus after someone threw it and broke the window.

2200 block W. Lehigh Ave. – police observed a fire at the location and deemed it arson.

 

Saturday, Dec. 4, 2010

5500 block Wissahickon Ave. complainant said another car hit his bumper. When he got out of his car, the offenders pointed a black handgun at him and pushed him before fleeing the scene. Complainant was taken to the Northwest Detectives Division.

5100 block of Germantown Ave. complainant said three men held him up at gunpoint outside of the store, stealing his wallet, credit cards and $350.

1600 block W. Lehigh St. two DeWalt saws were stolen from the property. At about 3 a.m. Dec. 4, a witness said she saw someone leaving from the rear of the property. Complainant said he was doing renovations there, but had previously secured the area before leaving for the day.

2000 block W. Stella St. – 2001 Ford Crown Victoria was stolen between 2:30 and 10:30 a.m. Dec. 4.

 

Sunday, Dec. 5, 2010

500 block Manheim St. air conditioner and Christmas tree were stolen from the property between 7 p.m. Nov. 28 and 12 p.m. Dec. 5. Items were left in a shared basement of the apartment complex.

5100 block Wissahickon Ave. Apple iPod touch and a Breitling wristband were stolen from a 2010 Toyota sedan between 2:30 and 6:30 a.m. Dec. 5.

5500 block Wissahickon Ave. 1999 Jeep Cherokee stolen between 6 p.m. Dec. 3 and 2:30 p.m. Dec. 5.

3300 block N. Gratz St. complainant said one of her sister’s ex-boyfriends barged into her home wielding a handgun and asked: “Which one of you got my money?” He then fled the scene in a white Buick.

2900 N. Woodstock St. – Dell computer, 12” computer screen, fax machine, copier and a 42” flat screen TV were stolen from the property between 6 p.m. Dec. 3 and 4 p.m. Dec. 5.

 

Monday, Dec. 6, 2010

Wissahickon Ave. / W. Roosevelt Ave Blvd. 2001 Buick Century stolen. Complainant said the car broke down at the location around 8:30 a.m. Dec. 6.  And an hour later, he said, the car was gone.

100 block Manheim St. – Playstation 3, Xbox and five video games were stolen from the property.

1700 block W. Hunting Park Ave. A teacher said someone stole his laptop from his desk inside one of the school’s classrooms.

1400 block W. Venango St. – Garmin G.P.S. stolen from a vehicle between 7:30 a.m. and 6:50 p.m. Dec. 6.

2900 block N. 18th St. – Apple iPod stolen from a 2005 Chrysler PT Cruiser between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Dec. 6.

 

Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2010

400 block Earlham Ter. – complainant said her daughter threatened her with a kitchen knife during an argument. The complainant was able to wrestle the knife away from her daughter, who was arrested and taken to the Northwest Detectives Division.

3900 block Netherfield Road. – a ring worth an estimated $1000 was stolen from the property.

1900 block Dennie St. – tools, clothes and $3600 in cash were stolen from the property between 11 a.m. Nov. 10 and 5 p.m. Dec. 7. Complainant said that his daughter took his bank card and the tools while he was in the hospital.

 

Wednesday, Dec. 8, 2010

3100 block N. 30th St. – complainant said about 15 guys approached him at the bus stop and stole his iPod Nano. Complainant said one of them punched him in the mouth and another stole the iPod.

400 block W. Chelten Ave. Apple iPod and headphones were stolen from a 2004 Mazda sedan between 11:45 a.m. Dec.7 and 12:50 a.m. Dec. 8.

4700 block Ridge Ave. – a pair of sunglasses and three tennis rackets were stolen from a 2009 Hyundai sedan between 1:05 p.m. Dec.6 and 1:20 p.m. Dec.8.

4400 block N. 16th St. – 2004 Chrysler Sebring stolen between 10 p.m. Dec.7 and 2 p.m. Dec. 8.

3500 block N. 21st St. complainant said her boyfriend punched her twice in the right eye and hit her in the head with a coffee pot. Offender was gone before police arrived.

 

Thursday, Dec. 9, 2010

400 block W. Abbotsford Ave. – 1999 Cadillac Eldorado stolen between 9 a.m. Dec. 8 and 8 a.m. Dec. 9.

5200 block Morris St. TV/Radio, watch and a bag containing paperwork and miscellaneous items were stolen from a 1992 Dodge between 7:30 p.m. Dec. 8 and 4 p.m. Dec. 9.

2000 block W. Tioga St. four plasma TVs, an HP computer, four gaming systems with games, five pairs of UGG boots and more stolen from the property. Complainant said she left around 1 p.m. Dec. 9 and when she returned about four hours later, the items were gone.

3600 block N. Bouvier St. The complainant’s boyfriend threatened to strike her with a cane. When police asked him to put down the object, he refused. Police arrested him and took him to the Northwest Detectives Division.

2700 block N. Hemberger St. – 1995 Honda Accord stolen. Complainant said she left the car running with the doors unlocked to let the inside warm up. When she returned, she saw someone get into her car and drive away.

2200 block W. Cambria St. complainant said she was walking to the store when a man approached her and asked her to hand over everything she had.  The offender, who appeared to have a gun, grabbed $100 in cash from the complainant’s coat and dashed down the street.

2700 block N. 26th St. 2005 Nissan Altima stolen sometime between 10 p.m. and 11 p.m. Dec. 9.
