A Nicetown man was killed after his motorcycle collided with a car in Germantown in the overnight hours.

Police said that Andre Hart, 39, was traveling eastbound on Roberts Ave. at 12:18 a.m. Tuesday.

Attempting to make a left turn onto Pulaski Avenue at a high rate of speed, he was struck by a 1999 Nissan Maxima that was traveling westbound on Roberts Avenue, police said.

Hart, of the 1500 block of W. Cayuga St., was pronounced dead at the scene less than a half hour later.

Asked if any tickets will be issued for the driver of the Nissan, a Police Department spokeswoman said the accident remains under investigation as of late Tuesday morning.

The fatal crash happened not far from where a 40-year-old man was struck by a vehicle while walking along Roosevelt Boulevard before allegedly assaulting medics and attempting to steal a fire truck after a brief chase on June 17.
