14th Police District: Where dish-washing disputes turn into alleged stabbings

June 1, 2012

2000 block 74th Ave. – Car radio stolen from a 1997 Chevy.

7400 block Ogontz Ave. – 2005 GMC truck stolen.

7000 block Louise Road – Xbox, PS3, Toshiba laptop, head phone and five watches stolen from the property.

5100 block Baynton St. – Complainant said a known offender fired a gun at her during a dispute.

300 block E. Tulpehocken St. – Two TVs, window air conditioners, shoes and clothes stolen from the property.

400 block E. Penn St. – A man threw grills at a police officer during a pursuit stemming from a report that the offender was exposing himself. Offender was Tasered and arrested.

6100 block Musgrave St. – Briefcase, work papers, iPhone charger and Nike socks were stolen from a 2000 Lincoln MS.

7100 block Bryan St. – Bike stolen at the location.

100 block W. Bells Mill Road – Two HP laptops, briefcase and a debit card were stolen from a 2002 Mazda.

8500 block Provident Road – 2007 Honda Accord stolen. Car contained a Compaq laptop and a leather jacket.

June 2, 2012

200 block Rittenhouse St. – 22-inch Emerson TV was stolen from the property.

5100 block Rufe St. – An unknown person was murdered. Police responded to a report of a body wrapped in a sheet. Complainant was pronounced dead at 7:45 p.m. (Editor’s note: Victim later identified as Candace Holmes of West Oak Lane.)

Armat St. / Germantown Ave. – Complainant said a man robbed him at gunpoint. Offender fled with a Gucci watch.

6300 block Germantown Ave. – 2002 Saturn stolen.

Greene St. / Coulter St. – Complainant said six men followed and robbed him after he got off the bus. Complainant said the men punched the complainant in the face before fleeing with a book bag with an old cell phone, flash drives and a video game. Police have arrested one of the offenders.

June 3, 2012

1600 block Andrews Ave. – Complainant said his sister stabbed him in the neck during a dispute over washing dishes. Complainant was taken to the hospital where he is listed in stable condition.

5500 block Sprague St. – Complainant said two men robbed him at the location. Offenders, who may have been armed, ran off with a Guess wallet, driver’s license, college ID, social security card, TD Bank credit card, unemployment card and $110.

Stenton Ave. / Hortter St. – Complainant said two men robbed him a gunpoint. Offenders fled with a cell phone, bi-fold wallet, credit card, debit card and $200.

5600 block Chew Ave. – A man was murdered. Police found complainant face down on the street with a gunshot wound to the face. He was pronounced dead at the hospital at 2:51 a.m.

Unit bock W. Sharpnack St. – 42-inch TV, Xbox system and games and an IBM laptop were stolen from the property.

8600 block Provident Road – Complainant said his wife hit him in the head during a dispute. Offender then left the scene.

1600 block E. Mt. Airy Ave. – 2001 Nissan Altima stolen.

June 4, 2012

100 block Maplewood Mall – GPS stolen from a 2004 Toyota.

200 block W. Rittenhouse St. – T-Mobile cell phone stolen from the property.

Wayne Ave. / Penn St. – Complainant said three men robbed him at the location. Offenders ran off with a black Cricket cell phone. Offenders also punched complainant in the face when he tried to chased after them.

June 5, 2012

Walnut Lane and Morton St. – Complainant said someone struck him in the mouth and head with a bat while he was at a bus stop. Complainant was taken to the hospital where he is listed in stable condition.

100 block W. Penn St. – 20 Xbox games, controller, Dell laptop and an HP laptop stolen from the property.

Northwestern Ave. / Forbidden Drive – Credit card was stolen from a 2007 Toyota Camry. Complainant said the card has been used at various locations.

200 block E. Ellet St. – Complainant said his head hit the ground when his ex-girlfriend drove off while he was sitting on the hood of her car. The two were having a discussion about vacation at the time.

7500 block Germantown Ave. – Nintendo Wii, two controllers and 10 Wii games were stolen from the property.

8000 block Woolston Ave. – Engagement ring stolen from the property.

800 block E. Hortter St. – ACER laptop, iPAD, Gucci sneakers, Gucci belts, two pairs of Gucci shoes, four bottles of alcohol and two checkbooks were stolen from the property.

7400 block Briar Road – Two gold rings and two gold chains were stolen from the property.

Washington Lane / Stenton Ave. – Complainant said a man threw a bottle at her before a woman started to hit her.

June 6, 2012

400 block Sharpnack St. – Garmin GPS stolen from a car.

1900 block Dallas St. – Three passports, sneakers, shoes, clothing, three TVs, Mac computer, Wii and jewelry stolen from the property.

72nd Ave. / 15th St. – Complainant said a known offender jumped out of her car and punched her in the face and bit her on the hand. Complainant was taken to the hospital.

5600 block Anderson St. – 32-inch flat-screen TV, 47-inch TV, laptop and tools stolen from the property.

7100 block Ogontz Ave. – LG Verizon cell phone stolen from the property.

18th St. / 72nd Ave. – Complainant said her aunt hit her in the face and then pulled her to the ground by her hair and began to stomp and kick her with both feet. Offender then picked up a rock and threw it at her before stealing her glasses.

Washington Lane / Forrest Ave. – Complainant said two men robbed him at the location. Offenders ran off with a cell phone and $55.

6400 block Lensen St. – GE stove and a Samsung microwave stolen from the property.

5500 block Heiskell St. – 50 feet of copper pipes stolen from the property.

8100 block Ardleigh St. – Jewelry stolen from the property.

6300 block Stenton Ave. – Complainant said a man robbed a bank at the location. Offender walked in and handed over a note which stated, “Please don’t die over someone else money. Give me all money.” Offender fled with an unknown amount of cash.

June 7, 2012

1800 block Cheltenham Ave. – Complainant said two men robbed him at gunpoint. Offenders ran off with a SEPTA TransPass, iPod and $45.

2200 block Cheltenham Ave. – 1999 Nissan Altima stolen.

6600 block Ardleigh St. – iPhone stolen at the property.

Unit block E. Wister St. – 21 bottles of alcohol, $118 worth of loose change, two watches and a Motorola flip phone stolen from the property.

Unit block E. Queen Lane – iPAD 3 stolen from a car.

5800 block Germantown Ave. – Complainant said a man robbed her at the location. Offender ran off with a white purse, $5,000, jewelry, wallet, credit cards, IDs and a cell phone.

100 block W. Washington Lane – Xbox games and a Barbie movie were stolen from the property.
