1 killed in construction zone crash on Garden State Parkway

State Police say one worker was killed and another was injured after an SUV ran into the back of their construction equipment on the Garden State Parkway.

The accident occurred at 1:19 a.m. Wednesday in the northbound lanes in Aberdeen.

State Police spokesman Trooper Jeff Flynn says 21-year-old Marc Senatore of Nutley was driving in the center lane when his SUV entered the right lane and hit the equipment. Flynn says the equipment struck the workers and a pickup truck.

Authorities pronounced 45-year-old Cesar Desouza-Caetano of North Bergen dead on the scene.
