SugarHouse to expand table games

Philadelphia’s lone casino is re-configuring to cater to high-rollers.

SugarHouse Casino is reworking it’s casino floor to add more table games.  Casino General Manager Wendy Hamilton says it’s because the games are more popular than expected when they built the facility.

“We’re going to take a piece of our refinery restaurant where we have some extra capacity and we are use that to expand our table games offering because our table games are in such high demand because we know it’s something that our customers want,” said Hamilton.

Hamilton discounts reports that the slot machine business is slow at the casino.

“The slot business is a very direct mail driven business and that business is growing exactly the way it’s supposed to as we grow our database,” she said.  ” We’re actually very pleased with our performance so far, we are four and a half months in and we’re exactly where we’re supposed to be.”

The changes need to be approved by gambling regulators.  Hamilton says the changes are expected to be completed by mid-summer.
