DJ Rich Medina talks with Dr. James Peterson about his involvement with the GrassROOTS Community Foundation and its annual fundraiser, which will benefit a Northwest Philadelphia school.

Five years ago DJ Rich Medina became involved with The GrassROOTS Community Foundation. On Saturday, Medina will take part in the foundation’s annual fundraiser, the Let’s Move It Philly hip-hop dance party at Trilogy Nightclub.

Proceeds from the event will go toward the Lingelbach School in Germantown. The school was allotted only $160 in discretionary funds by the Philadelphia School District — money to use toward everything from books to after-school activities. Medina, along with Black Thought and DJ Jazzy Jeff, will provide the music to keep the crowd moving to the Philly classics theme.
