A graduate of Temple University, he has produced award-winning journalism on local politics, criminal justice, immigration and neighborhood issues, with bylines in more than a dozen local news outlets. Prior to joining Billy Penn in August 2018, Max served as a staff writer and associate editor at Philadelphia Weekly, the city’s last surviving alt-weekly, and AL DÍA News, a Spanish-English news outlet that covers the city’s Latino community.
