
Jane M. Von Bergen
Jane M. Von Bergen is an award-winning journalist and teacher with a passionate belief in story and culture. For 35 years, Von Bergen reported for The Philadelphia Inquirer, where she last covered labor, jobs, and the economy. Von Bergen co-founded The Reentry Project, the predecessor to Resolve Philadelphia, a renowned journalism collaborative. Her book, On the Job: The Untold Story of Worker Centers and the New Fight for Wages, Dignity, and Health, co-authored with Celeste Monforton and published by The New Press, is available for purchase now. Teaching at the University of Pennsylvania, Von Bergen remains a student, striving to improve her Spanish. She and her husband, photographer I. George Bilyk, have two grown sons.
