When the moon hits your eye like a big pizza pie – that’s a supermoon!

Supermoon? – Ridiculous! Invented by Astrologer Richard Nolle in 1979. Difference in size between these full moons and other full moons is less than 2%. You cannot see the difference. The moon looks especially large when it rises at full phase because of a poorly understood ‘trick of the eye’ -optical illusion where our brain exaggerates the size of the moon when seen low on the horizon and close to objects of known size. Moon shrinking from waning crescent to new this week. It was 1st qtr., Sunday July 20, 1969. Watch it slide past Aldebaran, Venus, Mercury at 5a this week. Mars, Spica, Saturn still in the evening south sky.
