What the Ashley Madison website hack says about infidelity and public shame
Listen 00:48:43Guests: Jennifer Weiner, Justin Lehmiller, Edward Monte
The latest big internet hack, that of the infidelity-facilitating website AshleyMadison.com, seems to have inspired shaming more than sympathy for those whose privacy has been compromised. Today on the show, we’ll discuss the people who used the site, their motivations, and the ramifications of their having been exposed. We’ll start off talking with author JENNIFER WEINER who wrote an op-ed in the New York Times about the people who used the site. Then we’ll be joined by sex educator and researcher JUSTIN LEHMILLER, and individual and couples therapist EDWARD MONTE.
