    Somei Satoh is a Japanese composer of contemporary music. The rests in Birds in Warped Time II are very important. The rests represents death and the notes life.

    Schubert: Sonata in A minor, D. 385

    Franz Schubert composed this romantic piece in 1816 at the age of 19, however it was published after Schubert’s death in 1828. It has four movements: Allegro moderato; Andante; Menuetto: Allegro and Allegro.

    Schumann: Sonata No. 2 in D minor, Op. 121

    Written in 1851, Sonata No. 2 in D minor, Op. 121 was his second sonata. It is believe it took Schumann three weeks to compose this sonata. Schumann said “I didn’t like the first violin sonata, so I wrote a second, which I hope turned out better.” The movements are marked: Ziemlich Langsam: Kurz und energisch;
    Sehr lebhaft; Leise, einfach and Bewegt.
