In his 2013 budget proposal unveiled on Monday, President Obama called for hundreds of billions of dollars in new spending to restore the economy through expansions in transportation and education programs, significant cuts in military spending and small reductions in the area of Homeland Security and humanitarian aid, and an increase in taxes for the wealthiest Americans. While the budget was met with criticism from Republican lawmakers, it does tell us what the President hopes to focus on should he be elected to a second term. Joining us to talk about all this and more are CARRIE BUDOFF BROWN from Politico, MARK THOMPSON, TIME’s Washington deputy bureau chief and editor of its Battleland blog; and JOHN D. McKINNON of the Wall Street Journal.
