Listen

Hour 1

August 31 marks the last day of combat operations in Iraq.  Thousands of U.S. soldiers will soon be returning home.  With this in mind, we thought we’d hear some soldiers’ stories.  First, the tragic life of NFL star turned Army Ranger, Pat Tillman.  We’ll talk with writer JON KRAKAUER about this extraordinary man’s life and the terrible circumstances of his death in Afghanistan.  Krakauer is the author of Where Men Win Glory: The Odyssey of Pat Tillman. We’ll also talk with retired marine, MIKE ZACCHEA about his struggles returning home from Iraq, coping with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and a brain injury.
