Radio Times in Review: LBJ with Julian Zelizer and Robert Caro, the LGBT movement with Michaelangelo Signorile

Listen 00:48:46

Guests: Julian Zelizer, Robert Caro,  Michelangelo Signorile

Coming up on today’s show: next weekend, HBO will be premiering an original film about Lyndon Johnson’s presidency.  Called “All The Way,” it’s based on a play of the same name and stars Bryan Cranston.  So, we thought we’d get folks up to speed by playing two Radio Times interviews with experts on LBJ. We’ll hear from presidential historian, JULIAN ZELIZER, who joined us last year to discuss his book The Fierce Urgency of Now: Lyndon Johnson, Congress, and the Battle for The Great Society. We’ll also hear from biographer, ROBERT CARO, who has written four books on America’s 36th president, and won a National Book Award for his work.  And, we’ll also listen to Marty’s interview with journalist and talk show host MICHELANGELO SINGNORILE, who joined us to discuss the past and present of the gay rights movement in America.
