Listen 00:49:45

Guests: David Porter, Lynn Schuchter, Nancy Isenberg, Rebecca Skloot

On today’s edition of Radio Times in Review, we’ll hear about breakthroughs in cancer research using immunotherapy when we listen to Marty’s conversation with cancer experts DAVID PORTER and LYNN SCHUCHTER from the University of Pennsylvania. We’ll also listen to Marty’s conversation with Louisiana State History professor NANCY ISENBERG about how class divisions from the colonial age are still a part of the American DNA, which she outlines in her book White Trash. Lastly, we’ll hear about Henrietta Lacks, whose cells were posthumously harvested 60 years ago and have been used in medical research to this day.  REBECCA SKLOOT joined us to talk about Lack’s life, and the tale behind her immortal cell line.
