Paternity leave: are men taking it and do they pay for it at work?

Listen 00:48:44

Guests: Claire Kane Miller and Taylor Tepper

Tech companies are taking the lead when it comes to creating family friendly workplaces. Just days after Netflix announced its policy of giving employees a year of paid leave to care for new babies, Adobe and Microsoft chimed in to with more liberal leave policies for new parents. Even the military is reviewing its parental leave policies. That’s good news for women and even better news for new fathers who sometimes face stigma when they take time off to care for a child. But are men really taking more paternity leave? And are they considered less career-driven if they do? We’ll explore the new world of parental leave for men with two guests. We’re joined by CLAIRE CAIN MILLER of the New York Times and TAYLOR TEPPER of Money Magazine who took time off when his son was born 18 months ago.
