International Space Station NASA Commander Scott Kelly and five fellow crew members at work over the Thanksgiving Holiday may be coming into holiday fare when new provisions arrive this Sunday.

There are only a very few places on the planet where the highest levels of science investigation can take place; the Large Hadron Collider in Europe, the IceCube Neutrino Observatory in Antarctica and a few astronomical observatories around the world. One of the best astronomical observatories is in a really remote part of NE Chile. The Delaware Valley Amateur Astronomers, one of the premiere astronomy clubs in the region will take us on a virtual tour of the observatory this Friday.

The Moon, Jupiter, Mars, Venus line up on Wednesday morning at 6:00. Each day following at 6 am, the moon slides right up ‘next to’ each of the planets in succession. Spectacular. Don’t think I’ve ever seen this in over 50 years of observing.
