Hour 1

When New Jersey Governor Chris Christie put rumors of GOP presidential nomination run to bed, he cited the unfinished business he felt he still had awaiting him in Trenton. Following on June’s landmark pension reform legislation and selloff of state-owned public media NJN, Christie and New Jersey Republicans are hoping to complete their Trenton takeover in the elections next month. Both party bases are energized for local and legislative races, on a statewide political map shuffled after redistricting. On today’s Radio Times, we talk to a pair of South Jersey bloggers from the left and the right who are driving and documenting the political news sprouting up from the Garden State. JAY LASSITER is a Democratic political consultant and blogs at BlueJersey.com. And BRIAN McGOVERN is a Republican political consultant and blogger at SaveJersey.com.
