Listen

Hour 2

Guest: Maria Bello

Actor MARIA BELLO has won acclaim for her roles in the films The History of Violence and The Cooler.  She’s appeared in many television shows including starring as Detective Jane Timoney in last year’s Prime Suspect and as Doctor Anna Del Amico from ER.  But in addition to her acting career, Bello, a Norristown native, has also been an advocate for women and children around the world, activism that started in her college days at Villanova University. After the Haiti earthquake in 2010 Bello co-founded WE Advance, a non-profit dedicated to empowering women in Haiti. Bello is in Philadelphia to accept the Myra Bradwell Award from the Women’s Law Project.  She comes into the studio to talk to Marty about her acting and activism.
