Local profs sign letter urging Biden to restore gun research funding

    Adding to the conversation around limiting gun-related violence in the aftermath of the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School, dozens of prominent professors nationwide signed on to recommendations forwarded to Vice President Joe Biden, who oversaw the White House Gun Violence Commission. 

    Richard Gelles, Dean of the School of Social Policy and Practice at the University of Pennsylvania, is one of them.  NewsWorks Tonight Host Dave Heller spoke with Dr. Gelles about the consequences of  the federal ban on funding for firearms research.
