Hurricane Sandy: Day 2

Listen

Hour 1

Our coverage of Hurricane Sandy continues.  We’ll start off getting an updated weather forecast from JOE MIKETTA, warning coordination meteorologist with the Mount Holly office of the National Weather Service.  Then we’re joined by Drexel University professor SCOTT KNOWLES to talk about what we know now about disaster relief and the politics involved.  We’ll also hear from TRICIA WACHTENDORF, associate director of the University’s Disaster Research Center.  She’s studied responses to previous disasters, including the attacks on the World Trade Center and Hurricane Katrina, and tells us how those experiences have informed how we provide relief now.
