NCCo executive debate
Four candidates running to lead New Castle County met in a debate this week in Hockessin put on by the News Journal. Incumbent County Executive Tom Gordon faced Democratic primary challenger Matt Meyer, and Republican challengers Mark Blake and Barry Nahe. We’ll disect this four-way debate in this week’s First Look.

Shorecare
The home healthcare industry in the United States is projected to grow substantially over the next few years as the general population ages. A Middletown woman’s personal experience with home healthcare services led her to start her own business in which she hopes she can offer better services than she received.

First Person
Last week the national political spotlight was on Philadelphia where the Democrats came together for their convention. Right in the middle of all those people were three University of Delaware students. Two of them join us on our First Person segment this week. Welcome Sara Jo Lee and Andrew Wichman.

First Experience: Damon Pla
In our First Experience this week we head to Dagsboro and the studio of artist Damon Pla. A surrealist, Damon began his art career doing murals and landscapes. But Damon’s real passion is his surreal paintings. Imagination, light and a dose of Dali all contribute to Damon’s amazing art.
