    Guest: Michelle Dorrance

When the MacArthur Foundation awarded a “genius grant” to tap dancer and choreographer MICHELLE DORRANCE this year, they said it was for “breathing new life into a uniquely American art form in works that combine the musicality of tap with the choreographic intricacies of contemporary dance.” Dorrance has been reinvigorating tap dancing for over a decade as a solo artist and through her company, Dorrance Dance with her intricate footwork, creative choreography and innovative use of sound, rhythm and music. Join us this hour for a conversation with Dorrance about her dancing, the musicality of tap, and a live performance.
