Ballot Talks: Vote!

    Listen 00:48:44

Guests: Bobby Henon, Jim Saksa, John Baer, Thomas Mann

In this week’s edition of Ballot Talks: we discuss voter turnout and engagement in Philadelphia in the days leading up to Philadelphia’s mayoral primary. We begin today’s show with Philadelphia City Councilman BOBBY HENON, who has spearheaded an interesting initiative to encourage Philadelphians to vote. We’ll then talk with PlanPhilly’s JIM SAKSA and The Philadelphia Daily News’ JOHN BAER about voter excitement during the primary campaign season. Then; what if you were required by law to vote? We’re joined by THOMAS MANN of the Brookings Institution about the prospect of compulsory voting, and how it works in countries where citizens are required to cast their ballot on Election Day.
