Youth opera recreates concentration camp performance

    Likely one of just a few, “Brundibar” is a lighthearted tale from World War II. First performed in Germany’s Theresienstadt concentration camp by Jewish children imprisoned there, the opera has come to Philadelphia.

    WHYY’s Peter Crimmins spoke with the director and some of the young stars about the show, its origins and its sad ending.
