Year in green

    Greenworks has released a year-in-review type report of it accomplishments through 2010. Championed by the Office of Sustainabilty, Greenworks’ aim to create a more sustainable (and affordable) Philadelphia.

     

    So what did get done this year on the city’s sustainable front?

    The Green2015 action plan was released, calling for public input on the implementation of 500 acres of green space in Philadelphia in the next five years.
    Ground was broken on Hilton University City, a sustainable EnergyWorks project.
    The Eagles are going even more green with solar panels and wind turbines at the Linc.T
    Philadelphia Department of Human Services employees will take part in a car share as a way to both reduce emissions and track vehicles.
