Wreck chase

In the latest twist to the towing bill currently before Philadelphia City Council, AAA Mid-Atlantic is urging Sponsor Jim Kenney to amend the bill to avoid a federal challenge.  AAA says the bill, which seeks to put an end to so-called “Wreck chasing,” needs to exempt tow trucks from outside the city.  A recent U.S. Appeals Court decision in New York City struck down enforcement of a similar law on tow trucks from outside the city towing vehicles into or passing through the city.
