Woman rescued after falling into Wissahickon Creek

A woman was rescued along the Wissahickon Creek this morning near the SEPTA bus depot on Ridge Avenue in between Manayunk and East Falls. 

According to the police report, a witness observed a woman jumping into the river before landing on her back near the water around 10:30 a.m. 

Police responded to a call at 11:18 a.m. and transported her to Temple University Hospital. Police did not have any details on the extent of her injuries. 

Another report indicated that the woman was pregnant, but police could not confirm that or give an explanation on how the incident occurred.
