NJ woman burned after friend dumps gas on fire pit

Police say a woman sustained burns over 27 percent of her body when gasoline that was thrown on a fire pit exploded in a backyard in Keansburg.

Police say 19-year-old Donya Amin of Matawan is being treated for second- and third degree burns.

Police Chief James Pigott tells the Asbury Park Press Amin was with two friends when 22-year-old Aaron Newsom dumped gasoline on the fire pit Wednesday.

The chief says the gas can caught fire and exploded.
