West Oak Lane cleanup day, Oct. 5
On Saturday, the West Oak Lane Charter School, office of state Rep. Dwight Evans and others will signify Prudential Financial’s 19th Annual Global Volunteer Day with a neighborhood-beautification effort.
From 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., volunteers will help clean and landscape an unkempt garden lot at Stenton and Mansfield avenues as well as lend a hand painting and fixing up the Simons Recreation Center.
Volunteers should show up at the school at 10 a.m., where tools will be provided. Work gloves will not be provided but are recommended.
According to Prudential, more than 20,000 of their employees are expected to participate in service projects in 11 countries as a part of Global Volunteer Day.
