Wissahickon Creek claims another car

On Saturday afternoon a crash on Lincoln Drive sent a vehicle into Wissahickon Creek.

Philadelphia Police say a driver lost control of his SUV on Lincoln Dr., jumped a guardrail and plunged into the Wissahickon Creek.

The male driver was able to get out and was transported to Roxborough Hospital as a precaution.  Police report that despite the dramatic nature of the crash, the driver only suffered minor injuries.

Officer Jillian Russell, a police-department spokeswoman, said the man was the only person in the car.

“The vehicle was traveling westbound on Lincoln Dr. when it flipped over,” said Russell. “It went over the guardrail.”

Russell did not speculate as to how the driver lost control of the vehicle. She says the vehicle was removed from the creek on Saturday.
