Wilmington Police respond to early evening shooting

    An investigation is ongoing as one victim dies at Christiana Hospital.

    On Tuesday around 8:15pm Wilmington Police were called to the 600 block of W.6th Street in response to a shooting. In the midst of a large crowd, the officers found two women had been shot.

    Artise Brown, 24 years old, from Wilmington was suffering from injuries in her lower back and a 19 year old woman was wounded in her left upper leg area.

    Both victims were treated on the scene and taken to the Christiana Emergency Room. Ms. Brown did not survive her injuries, while the other woman is currently listed in stable condition.
