Wilmington leaders break ground on a new energy facility using renewable energy biosolids from the Hay Road Wastewater Treatment Plant. The facility is believed to be the first of its kind in the nation, using a cogeneration system to combine digester and landfill gases to create a renewable energy source to power the treatment plant.
