Williams announces staff changes in Philadelphia District Attorney’s office

Following a story in today’s Daily News about tension between Philadelphia D.A. Seth Williams and First Assistant D.A. Joseph McGettigan, Williams has announced staffing changes in the office.

Among them is confirmation of McGettigan’s medical leave. The leave is open-ended, and McGettigan’s future in the office is uncertain.

The Inquirer reports the status of McGettigan’s job will de determined when he returns from leave, and disputed reports from the DN that McGettigan quit over tensions between the top two district attorneys.
