Wildwoods once again voted New Jersey’s best beaches

Bobby Rydell was onto something. The Wildwoods beaches have once again been voted New Jersey’s best, earning about 7,000 of the nearly 20,000 votes in a survey done by New Jersey Sea Grant Consortium and the Richard Stockton College Coastal Research Center.

The two-year honor will be used in the towns’ marketing campaign.

The Press of Atlantic City reports Ocean, Cape May and Monmouth counties all have multiple beaches on the list. Atlantic County has none. The county’s Public Information Officer, Linda Gilmore, says it’s all about the Wildwoods’ wide beaches. And yes, that’s the part of it.

The survey was two-thirds based on online voting, but the other third took into account beach width, the dune system and the coastal environment. If you want to get more specific, NJ Monthly recently released its Best Beaches issue, naming the top spots for you particular vactioning style.
