Widener student focuses on service in her day as university president

Bonnie Zwissler spent her Tuesday in meetings instead of listening to a lecture. The Widener University senior took on the role of university president yesterday in the school’s ninth annual President-for-a-Day event.

So while Dr. James Harris went back to the classroom for the day, Zwissler was busy trying to raise awareness for community service opportunities.

The Delaware County Daily Times reports Zwissler helped university officials come up with ideas for engaging students in community service. Part of that is the university’s decision to add an aassistant dean of civic engagement.
