Whale sighting

A whale spotted Sunday near Delaware’s Rehoboth Beach has been identified as a rare right whale.

Matt Mundok was bass fishing with his family at Indian Inlet near the Delaware River when he captured a video of the whale on his phone, the Associated Press reports.

Marine biologists later confirmed the whale is among only 400 rare right whales on the planet. Many have been spotted in the Delaware bay recently, but this one is about 1 to 3 years old and nearly 40 feet long.
