Weekend of Harry Potter underway in Chestnut Hill

It’s not often you run into traffic on Germantown Avenue for a Quidditch tournament.

This weekend, if you do hit traffic, Quidditch will most likely be the cause, as Harry Potter fans young and old celebrate a weekend full of events adapted from the popular movies.

It’s all part of the Harry Potter Weekend, a joint effort by the Chestnut Hill Business Association and Chestnut Hill College.

NewsWorks reporter Jimmy Viola says the weekend began Friday night with a Potter-themed pub crawl in Chestnut Hill. Today, Potter fans will venture to the Germantown Avenue area for for an all-day Quidditch tournament.

If you’re not into the sport, there’s plenty of restaurants and shops along the avenue that plan to feature Harry Potter themed promotions throughout the weekend.
