Weekend News Briefs: 12/16 – 12/18

Friday — A 74-year-old woman died Friday morning after being struck by a car in Holmesburg.

The woman was crossing Frankford  Avenue traffic on the 7700-block where she was picking up a rental car when she was struck. Authorities are trying to determine if the driver, who stopped, will be charged.

Authorities are searching for the suspects wanted for stabbing a man behind the Wawa at Castor and Tyson avenues. Four teenagers are sought for an attempted robbery at the store and the subsequent stabbing of a man, who was taken to Aria Health-Torresale and treated for a wound in his stomach.

Saturday — Police have identified the man who died Saturday morning in a crash at Roosevelt Boulevard and Holme Avenue. Rasheed Blaknight, 22, of North Philadelphia, died when his car struck a light pole in the intersection. He was pronounced dead at Aria Health-Torresdale.
